EU rules pose costs and compliance challenges for Indian exporters
Indian recyclers warned that a proposed EU metal-waste ban could raise costs for Indian MSMEs, with the EU supplying a significant share of scrap imports across aluminium, copper, lead and zinc. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said EU rules could raise costs, while officials said MSMEs must meet requirements including ESG, CBAM and certification to benefit from an FTA.
