Proposed GST enforcement reforms
Proposals for the GST Council to consider include removing officials’ direct arrest powers, requiring court-ordered arrests and setting a ₹5 crore prosecution threshold. The Council is expected to discuss enforcement changes on October 7, with legislation possibly following in the Winter Session.
