Robotic surgery gains rapid ground in India, Delhi NCR leads: Experts

India is rapidly scaling up robotic surgery, with procedures rising from 8,912 in 2021 to 44,857 in 2025, while Delhi NCR has emerged as the country’s biggest hub with 39 hospitals using robotic systems. Experts say the next phase could include wider use of telesurgery, remote mentoring and access to specialist care beyond major cities, subject to regulatory and cybersecurity safeguards.
